Profile
Nine years running a corporate Windows Server environment single-handed — Active Directory,
Group Policy, Exchange, DNS/DHCP, WSUS, WDS and NTFS security on Hyper-V, behind a MikroTik
firewall with Bitdefender GravityZone on every endpoint. I designed it, built it, and supported
the users on it. Software engineering background (C#, C++, PowerShell) applied to automating
administration rather than repeating it.
Professional Experience
IT Specialist — Elfath Group
Aug 2013 – Jan 2023
Cairo, Egypt — ongoing contract IT support, sole administrator. 2 servers and 20–30 workstations.
- Designed and deployed the Active Directory domain from scratch — forest,
OU tree mapped to departments, security groups, delegated rights — replacing scattered local
accounts with one managed identity per person.
- Ran the core services under it: AD-integrated DNS (forwarders, scavenging)
and DHCP (scopes, reservations, options), ending static-IP conflicts and
per-machine network setup.
- Authored the Group Policy baseline — password and lockout policy, security
lockdown, mapped drives and printers, software deployment — targeted per OU with security
and WMI filtering.
- Deployed and administered Exchange Server: mailbox databases, mail flow
and connectors, distribution lists, shared mailboxes, transport rules, OWA.
- Built a least-privilege NTFS share model — department-scoped shares, ACLs
on groups not individuals, auditing on sensitive directories — and ran WSUS
for staged, tracked patching.
- Set up WDS imaging so a new or wiped machine PXE-booted to a standard,
domain-joined desktop instead of an hour of manual install, and ran the server roles as
Hyper-V VMs with checkpoints for safe rollback.
- Held the perimeter and the endpoints: MikroTik firewall rules deciding who
reached the internet and what they could use once out, and Bitdefender GravityZone
pushing policy, detections and remediation from one console.
- Day-to-day support, onboarding and offboarding, and documentation that kept the environment
reproducible rather than locked in one person's head.
Game Developer — 2024 Studios
Nov 2024 – Present
Cairo, Egypt
- Gameplay systems programming in C# and C++ (Unity, Unreal), shipped across iOS and Android.
- Relevant to IT: build and release pipelines, version control administration, environment setup
for the team, and debugging across machines and platforms.
Technical Support — Concentrix
Sep 2022 – Mar 2023
Cairo, Egypt
- Front-line technical support at service-desk scale — diagnosing user issues, resolving them
within agreed response times, and following up until closure.
- Reinforced the support-facing half of IT work: clear communication with non-technical users,
ticket discipline, and staying calm under volume.
Infrastructure Project — Windows Server Lab
- Hyper-V lab reproducing a full corporate domain: domain controller with AD DS, DNS and DHCP,
member servers for Exchange, WSUS and WDS, a file server with a least-privilege share model,
and domain-joined Windows clients.
- Published architecture diagrams, PowerShell build scripts, and the GPO baseline as a documented,
reproducible build rather than screenshots alone.
- Lab reproduction of a previously operated production environment; no employer data or
assets are used.
